A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be solved by using anti-spam protection software. It is also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud web hosting platform and you’ve got a web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a lot of functions, but it is very intuitive, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only one click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with several mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company. The hosting account will be managed via our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes with any domain hosted here. To activate the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox, you will need to click on the icon with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Deactivating this functionality can be achieved in the exact same way and will not take more than a click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a certain domain name, you’ll receive a warning message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or alter anything automatically.
